What happens if peptide “cakes” look broken during shipping?
Peptide powders can occasionally appear cracked, loose, or “broken” after transit. This can happen because vials may experience movement, vibration, or temperature changes during shipping. In most cases, this is purely cosmetic and does not affect the identity or intended research quality of the peptide.
Lyophilized peptides are freeze-dried into a solid cake, but that cake can naturally shift or separate while in transit. You may notice powder along the side of the vial, a cracked surface, or the cake settling at the bottom. This is normal and expected from time to time.
As long as the vial remains sealed and the contents appear dry, a broken cake is generally not a cause for concern. Once reconstituted, the peptide should dissolve as expected when handled according to standard research procedures.
At KLENE PEPTIDES, we carefully package every order to reduce movement during transit. If your vial arrives damaged, unsealed, or if anything looks unusual beyond normal cake separation, please contact our support team and we’ll be happy to help.
